Hazel Buckham

Hazel Buckham was born in Minneapolis on December 27, 1888. She moved to Los Angeles with her family in 1910. Hazel began her acting career in road productions on the East Coast with the Ferris Stock Company. In 1912, Buckham was recruited by Biograph Studios to appear in films. She went on to work in nearly forty motion pictures with Biograph, American, Broncho, Kay-Bee and Universal Studios.

Hazel married actor Joe King, The couple’s daughter Joleen King appeared in a handful of movies between 1939 and 1950. Hazel Buckham left acting not long after the birth of her daughter in 1914. She remained in Los Angeles where until her death 1959. These advertisements for a couple of Hazel’s Boob films, Mountain Law and the Awakening are from a 1914 issue of Universal Studios magazine.
