Home of Henry Hastings Sibley, first Governor of the State of Minnesota in 1858. The East Room was used as the first Capitol of Minnesota. The Sibiey House was restored by the Minnesota Daughters of the American Revolution, and is now a Museum. Many relics and pieces of furniture belonged to General and Mrs. Sibley.
This dining room contains original mahogany furniture used by the family of General Henry Hastings Sibley, first governor of Minnesota.
The library was used as the temporary capitol of Minnesota Territory by Governor Alexander Ramsey in 1849.
