Augie’s Stage Lounge Opened This Week. When the bright lights went on at Augie’s the first part of the week, it marked the opening of Minneapolis newest up-to-date stage lounge. Right in the heart of the loop -Hennepin at 5th St., this new lounge is inaugurating a policy of providing its patrons with the finest entertainment available. In keeping with that policy. the management at Augie’s has booked in the famous Leon Boys, a swing-dingy foursome of rhythm makers that have everything. They go from wild swing to the smooth and mellow type of music as easily as if one were to change a record. Another feature of the program is Jeanne Bargy, a talented vocalist-pianist combination who excels at both assignments. Miss Bargy comes by her piano skill naturally. Her father, a well known orchestra leader, was for years, featured pianist with Paul Whiteman’s Band, Jeanne is a chip off the old block, and a splendid singer. We can assure you that a visit
to Augie’s will, indeed, be a pleasant one.
