High Hopes on Hennepin

It is seeing the city, often for the first time—exploring its streets and staring
at its store windows.
It is boys gawking, and girls blushing, at the fleshy photographs of stripteasers
outside the Hennepin Avenue joints.

It is seeing a movie at one of the rows of theaters with the flashing lights.
It is looking wistfully at the swanky restaurants that serve the big steaks and
then going to a hamburger joint to save money.
It is going around at first in large gangs of guys and girls and later pairing off
or hoping to.

Hennepin Avenue, center of theatre and cafe activity, becomes a glittering panorama
of neon color after dark. Long famous as the “Entertainment Strip” of Minneapolis
Hennepin Avenue offers an excellent variety of theatre and entertainment facilities.
