Another big star of the silent silver screen, June Elvidge was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1893. At the ripe old age of 22 she made her stage debut in New York City in 1914. Her screen debut came the following year in the role Mrs. Van Allen in Sam Shubert’s film, The Lure Of Woman. Often cast in the role of a vamp, Elvidge was active in the movie industry until 1924. She appeared in the westerns Law Of The Yukon and Price of Pride . She appeared in over 70 films. The last movie that Elvidge made was a John G. Adolfi production called Chalk Marks. In 1925 she retired from film acting but continued to tour on the vaudeville circuit. After a year or so on the Orpheum Circuit, She retired from acting and and eventually married at stock broker named Britton Busch. Elvidge died in a nursing home in Eatontown, New Jersey on the 1st of May 1965 at the age of 71.
