Regarded as one of the most beautiful residence streets in the United States. Running along a great part of the edge of a plateau overlooking the Mississippi river, it possesses many natural charms. The avenue is 5.5 miles in length, extending from near the center of the business district west to the Mississippi. For a distance of four miles it is lined with many magnificent homes. From Lexington avenue to the river, a distance of 2.5 miles, a beautiful park way runs through the center of the street. In a commanding position on Summit avenue, near the subway, is being built the Cathedral of St. Paul, which will be a worthy supplement in architectural beauty to the Minnesota State Capitol.
