The Chapman House is probably the best known and most popular hotel on Lake Minnetonka, and is one of the oldest. Situated at the very head of the lake, the location is retired and at the same time accessible. The house stands upon a bluff about 25 feet above the water, commanding a splendid View of the upper lake, and is surrounded by a forest of large trees and a luxuriant growth of grass, forming a natural park seven acres in extent.
NEW MANAGEMENT.
The hotel has been remodeled, painted and decorated. The furniture renewed and the whole place put in such excellent condition that today the Chapman House ranks as one of the most comfortable and home like hotels around the shores of the lake. The table and service are the best that care and experience can supply.
The beauty of the drive along the north shore of Lake Minnetonka from Wayzata to Chapman’s is not excelled in Minnesota, noted as the state is for its scenery. A drive or ride by carriage or automobile from Minneapolis to Chapman’s is something long to be remembered.
To reach Chapman’s by rail, take Great Northern road at Union Depot, Minneapolis, getting off at Mound (not at Spring Park, as formerly) and walk a mile south, or take buss which meets all trains. There are 7 trains a day each way.
CHAPMAN’S FOR FISH.
The fishing at Chapman’s is famous all over the country. As the upper lake is less frequented than the lower, the fish are naturally much more plentiful. Boats, fishing tackle and bait always on hand.
Rates per day $2.00.
Per week $10.50 to $14.
