Osseo boasts of being the greatest early potato producing section of the Northwest. This boast is not without foundation, anyone may see wishes to spend few hours in this thriving village. One field of 40 acres is quite noteworthy. This field is owned by farmer, Peter Neumann, who takes great pride in showing visitors a broad expanse of green that actually as level as n billiard table throughout the entire 40 acres. During potato time the town presents a lively appearance. There are dozens of wagons waiting to ship potatoes to fill parts Of the country. In recent years so congested has become the streets on account of tho lack of cars, that veritable blockade of wagons in the streets of the viJlage loaded with spuds
It can be confidently said that before long Twin City lines will rot only be running to Robbinsdale, but also to Osseo and beyond. Oseeo has its own way of enjoying itself.In addition to nearby lakes and outdoor sports, the village has a concert band that renders fine programs every other week. The whole town turns out for these and the band is often called upon to play county fairs in nearby towns. Besides the band Osseo has what few towns can boast of- a Dramatic Club. This club, composed of local talent plays dramatic selections of high order during the winter months. Crowded houses are often the rule.
Neither is Osseo lacking from an educational and rebellious standpoint. A fine public school building with a library covering literature takes care of the wants of boys and girls in the town. The school fits for the high school and is presided over by teachers who have graduated from normal school and the state university. The enrollment is 120. There are three churches and a union Sunday school is attended by all the children in the town.Osseo has it all and its star is certainly on the rise.
