Run No. 19

To Minnehaha Park and Fort Snelling

You can reach Minnehaha Park by taking Lake Street to Minnehaha Boulevard, which leads directly to the park and then on to the fort. The route is straightforward and easy to follow.

The road between the park and the fort can be sandy in some sections, but experienced riders will find usable paths on either side. For variety, you can choose a different return route. From the fort, cross the bridge over the Mississippi River. On the other side, you may encounter a restaurant—whether you stop is entirely up to you!

Once ready to continue, take the road that turns left after the bridge. This scenic stretch offers a lovely ride along the riverbank, with great views of the high bluffs. The path eventually curves and enters a wooded area near the Catholic school. From there, you’ll reach Marshall Avenue, which is essentially a continuation of Lake Street. Turn left again to cross back over the Lake Street bridge. You can follow Lake Street as far as you like. The full loop is approximately 18 miles and offers an excellent ride.
